What is Chaga?

Inonotus obliquus mushrooms, better known as chaga mushrooms, are black, charcoal-like mushrooms that grow almost exclusively on birch bark. Because of this, they are also called black birch mushrooms in Lithuania.
Chaga mushroom is widespread from the Baltic region, Scandinavia to Siberia, where it is also called the gift of the forest. Chaga mushrooms have long been used in traditional folk cuisine - they are used to make teas, tonics, and other products.
