Raw Powders Cordyceps - Chinese Cordyceps belongs to the Ascomycetes family of mushrooms. Widespread in the Himalayas, at an altitude of about 3-5 km (Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, Chinese highlands, northern India). Although not classified as a mushroom taxonomy, cordyceps is described as an exotic medicinal mushroom in Chinese and Tibetan medicine.

Chinese cordyceps is a parasitic fungus that parasitizes the larvae of moths of the genus Thitarodes, as well as occasionally ants and other underground insects. The spore of the fungus gets on the body, covers it with mycelium and feeds on the animal's juices. The animal dies and is mummified. In summer, the mushroom produces a 5-15 cm long fruiting body from the back of the animal, which rises to the surface of the ground and scatters spores.
