Amix™ Essential Amino HD+

Essential amino acid supplement, ideal for periods of intense training, whether you are building muscle mass, dieting and trying to lose weight. This product is composed of free-form essential amino acids. It can provide the body with a unique complex of essential (non-essential) amino acids. They are special in that the body cannot produce them from its own resources, so they must be obtained with protein foods (which should have a complete amino acid profile), or with high-quality food supplements.

The EAA complex consists of nine amino acids, of which the three most studied and most widely used by athletes are leucine, isoleucine and valine (BCAA). It also contains other very important essential amino acids: Histidine, Methionine, Threonine, Lysine, Phenylalanine, Tryptophan.

It is known that only the intake of essential amino acids affects protein synthesis, while non-essential amino acids (those that the body can produce from other amino acids) are not necessary for muscle protein synthesis. Leucine has been shown to play a major role in protein synthesis out of the nine EAA complex. However, leucine alone is not nearly as effective as combined EAA. It has even been shown that leucine alone reduces EAA levels in the blood.

Two doses of 6 g of EAA after exercise have been shown to have twice the effect on protein synthesis as two doses of mixed amino acids (50% EAA plus 50% nEAA). Consuming 6 g of essential amino acids with or without carbohydrates significantly increases protein synthesis. The threshold at which protein synthesis ceases to increase is not yet clear. It is only clear that there is a threshold. This was demonstrated in a study in which 20 and 40 g of EAA were consumed after exercise and the effect on protein synthesis was similar.
